PRIVATE TUTORING FOR THE SAT AND ACT TESTS:

KTS offers SAT and ACT prep in private tutoring sessions at a mutually agreed upon time and place, for the private tutoring rate, plus a one-time fee to cover the cost of the prep book and materials.

KTS occasionally offers small-class tutoring to introduce students to the SAT and ACT tests. The next SAT and ACT classes are described below (following the testimonials).

A student's SAT score is usually derived by taking the highest score in each subject from all of the SAT tests the student has taken. Thus, the Math score may come from the March exam, the Critical Reading score from the June exam, and the Writing score from the October exam. When a student only needs to improve in one or two areas, private tutoring can be particularly useful, and many students are increasingly choosing this option over group classes, so that their individual needs can be addressed. All learning styles (including ADD, ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome, dyslexia, and dyscalculia) can be accommodated.

A student's ACT score, the Composite Score, is an average of the four individual subject scores (English, Math, Reading, and Science). The student must submit to colleges the test date with the highest composite score. Private tutoring can be very useful in helping the student improve the individual subject scores, thus improving the composite score.

For private tutoring, students usually attend one-hour sessions once a week. These sessions can take place in school or outside of school (afternoon, evening, or weekend) at a mutually convenient time and place. Please call (401) 595-9350 to make private tutoring arrangements.
